Brunel is currently seeking a Sr. Program Manager for our
client in their Tooling (Plastic Injection Molding) Division located in Warren,
Michigan.

Qualified Sr. Program Manager/Tooling
Engineer is responsible for managing multiple projects, meeting customer
demands, achieving overall project timing, and meeting financial targets.
Utilizing their expertise in mold design, machining and assembly, they direct, coordinate,
and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control,
integration, and completion of profitable tooling projects within area of
assigned responsibility.

About this role

Essential Functions

  • Interfaces
    with the customer to coordinate all aspects of project such as technical
    studies, mold design, quotations for any scope change, preparation of
    specifications and technical plans, project timing and mold tryout;
  • Reviews mold
    design and Mold Flow studies for compliance with engineering principles. Company
    standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications;
  • Directs
    integration of technical activities and products;
  • Evaluates
    and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases;
  • Prepares
    Change Orders, Request for Shipment, Request for Tryout and Mold Performance
    evaluation;
  • Controls
    expenditures within limitations of project budget;
  • Ensures all
    work is performed accurately, efficiently, on-time to schedule, and within
    budget;
  • Evaluate
    customer designed parts for molding ability and enhanced device function and
    make recommended changes to improve mold conditions;
  • Supports
    Customer Meetings by providing technical competency in mold and part design;
  • Maintain and
    communicate open issues list for internal and external customers;
  • Maintain and
    manage detailed budgets for each assigned program;
  • Maintain a
    vigilance to identify new potential technologies for the company with respect
    to mold design;
  • Be willing
    to travel, as required, to support the development and deployment of tooling;
  • Provide
    personal representation at tool try outs;
  • Conduct
    tooling reviews to assure standards and best practices are being employed;
  • As leader of
    the tool development, the Molding Engineer is the primary point of contact for
    all internal and external communication regarding tooling status;
  • Able to
    interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
    schedule form;
  • Assists with
    training project engineers.

Travel Required (Be willing to travel, as required, to support the development
and deployment of tooling)

About you

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from
    two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related
    experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience is preferred;
  • Understand the build of all tools built by the
    company (molds, dies, fixtures, and end of arm tooling, etc.), and minimum
    of five years in plastic injection molding industry;
  • Regular
    travel for this position is expected.
