About this role


  • To coordinate the recruitment activities for vacant positions and to provide the required assistance to recruiting Managers;
  • To manage all offers being made and liaise with candidates throughout the recruitment process;
  • Liaise with external providers to ensure recruitment activities are timely and effective;
  • Ensure accurate HR records, including tracking applicants and contract documentation are issued / maintained;
  • To liaise with the HR Administrator to ensure the transactional activities associated with onboarding new employees and contractors are complete, and to facilitate internal transfers, promotions and terminations;
  • Manage through the HR team to implement effective recruitment and retention strategies, and ensure recruitment activities comply with legislative requirements and company policies and procedures;
  • To coordinate company training and maintain personnel training records;
  • To provide general HR advice and support.


  • Create accurate and informative advertisements for print and electronic media and ensure the publication of advertisements in a timely manner;
  • Ensure all advertisements are placed on the Company website;
  • Forward all short listed applications to the relevant recruiting Manager or Supervisor within 48 hours of receipt;
  • Organise interviews by liaising with candidates, the recruiting Manager and external agencies (if required), keeping all parties informed of progress and required information;
  • Correspond with external providers and candidates within the agreed timeframes to inform them of the outcome of interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks on potential new employees;
  • Ensure all offers of employment are consistent with company remuneration banding and employment policy;
  • Ensure the Recruitment Authorisation form is submitted to the President for approval or the Managing Director (Australia) if the candidate’s salary is above the authorisation limit;
  • Dispatch the final contract of employment and associated paperwork within 6 hours of it being signed by the President or his nominee;
  • Send the weekly recruitment tracking report to the HR Manager – Perth, Australia.

HR Administration and Transactions:

  • Issue notification to Managers approximately two weeks prior to the expiration of an employee probationary period requesting approval to confirm permanent employment tenure;
  • Advise the relevant (internal) stakeholders of employee and contractor promotions, transfers and cessations so that the required action can be taken;
  • Dispatch the final transfer or promotion contract within 6 hours of it being signed by the President or his nominee;
  • Conduct exit interviews;
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of HR information.

General HR

  • Provide advice and support to line managers as requested or when appropriate in relation to contract wording and terms and conditions of employment;
  • Assist in the implementation of existing and new HR policies, procedures and processes;
  • Ensure all permanent staff are aware of the services provided by the EAP programme.


  • Source course information from Registered Training Organisations on suitable training courses to meet employee training needs;
  • Coordinate internal training courses / seminars. Coordination duties to include booking course presenters, venues, catering and technology requirements; facilitating and monitoring attendance to the course; and following up with participants to receive feedback on the effectiveness of the training;
  • Coordinate employee attendance to external training courses, ensuring that course participation / qualification certificates and records for employee attendance are maintained in an appropriate location;
  • Maintain all training records including a database that incorporates all internal and external training undertaken by employees and contractors.

About you


  • Five years’ experience in an HR role, preferably in an Engineering / Construction environment;
  • Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to the establishment, maintenance and success of work teams;
  • Ability to identify issues or problems and develop strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving them;
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities whilst ensuring attention to detail;
  • Approachable and firm with a positive manner;
  • Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Basic skills in using PowerPoint.
