with one of our clients on a long-term contract basis in the Salt Lake City,
Utah area.

About this role

  • Maintain project finances and contractual relationships;
  • Ensure the financial position of the project is
    accurately reported and controlled effectively;
  • Confirm with the various contractors their reported
    earned value and installed units for monthly invoice applications and the
    information is accurate valuations for payment;
  • Manage costs to ensure the project is tracking to the
    baseline budget;
  • Resolve claims or disputes with
    contractors/subcontractors;
  • Work closely with the project manager, construction
    manager and contracts manager, to manage the various contractors scope of work.

About you

  • Relevant degree and 2 years project experience or 5 plus years of experience working in the role of Quantity Surveyor/project cost engineer for EPCM projects;
  • Proficiency in using PC operating systems and several basic software applications;
  • Basic knowledge base of Primavera P6 scheduling software;
  • Experience working in the EPCM environment and Unit Rate/Lump Sum contracts;
  • Site based experience on industrial projects (Civil/Structural, Mechanical/Piping, Electrical/Instrumentation);
  • Experience interpreting drawings, specification and other construction information;
  • Experience with Material Take Off’s (MTO’s) to establish the units to be installed and develop excel spreadsheets to track and monitor progress;
  • Experience with processing claims or disputes regarding the contractors performance and or reported progress;
  • Experience working with project schedulers to update progress and earned value;
  • Experience using SAP and Prism, or similar accounting software.
