About this role

Support the business to effectively manage environment risks, legal, compliance and to provide strategic advice to Leadership;

Identify strategic environmental focus areas for the operation and engage proactively with management on these matters;

Assist to establish and deliver programs of work to resolve legacy environmental issues;

Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant regulators and key site and function Superintendents;

Execute activities that the Environment sub function is accountable for (monitoring, implementation and view of plans; and verification and reporting), and build capability and capacity within the line functions by coaching, mentoring and the provision of technical environmental advice;

Provide environment related technical execution support to management;

Support the development of technical capabilities of your operational environment team;

Maintenance of complete and detailed environmental management records on site;

Coordination of site audits and inspections;

Please note that this role is a rotation based position located in the Pilbara flying out of Perth.

About you

Greenfields construction experience with tier 1 mining contractor;

Appropriate Australian formal qualification (Environmental);

Environmental audit qualification desirable;

Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite;

Working Knowledge of Mapinfo GIS systems;

Sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulations;

Demonstrated report writing and presentation skills;

Confidence liaising with stakeholders;

Demonstrated leadership abilities;

Direct experience working and engaging with contractors;

Experienced in working with GPS units and field mapping instruments.

12 month renewable contract.
