About this role

The Law IT Team supports the Law Function in a wide
variety of technical solutions, implements continual process improvement, and
provides strategic technical direction that supports the Law Function needs
while aligning with the enterprise. Law IT develops and supports a variety
of custom and vendor applications utilizing technologies including MS .NET,
ASP, SQL Server, SharePoint, Java, Business Objects and XML. These positions
involve BA and BRM-style duties covering the entire SDLC including requirements
gathering, functional specs, creating test plans, testing, creating training
material, conducting training, creating deployment plans, deployments,
designing and testing reports as well as application configuration work. The
positions are responsible for understanding and applying Company's Information
Risk Management and Privacy standards to applications supported. The positions
build and maintains key relationships within the Law Function to provide
guidance when recommending, assessing, implementing and supporting business solutions.
This role will also research and stay abreast of technology trends in the Law
IT space.

  • Provide a key relationship between the Enterprise Law and Litigation functions and Law IT.;
  • Help provide ongoing level 3 support for custom and vendor solutions (creating business cases);
  • Provide system governance, performing an assessment of design changes and impact;
  • Apply Company's Information Risk Management and Data Privacy policies;
  • Adhere to change management and release processes for the applications supported;
  • Ability to apply basic project management skills to drive one's own work efforts and small special projects that may include a vendor;
  • Understand the current state and help design the desired state for the Law Function and ensure alignment with business strategies and requirements;
  • Understand and apply application development life-cycle (design, development, testing, implementation and/or support of application systems) processes and providing input to the Law Function architecture and road map to help identify forward thinking solutions that enable business value;
  • Ensure that evergreen processes are in place and working effectively to support technical solutions.

About you


  • 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst;
  • 2+ years working with Matter Management Systems (TeamConnect, Onit, Passport, Legal Suite, Lighthouse);
  • Experience working within the Legal/Law industry or in the Legal team of a company;
  • Experience working with dashboards and analytics;
  • Experience documenting business cases;
  • Great communication as this position mainly works with c-level.


  • Experience specifically with Team Connect- In-House Law experience.

Process Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of: maintenance, monitoring, production support, information protection, enhancement activity of either vendor or custom products;
  • Understanding of ITSM and Change Management processes. Foster a culture of reliability and operational discipline;
  • Extensive knowledge of Data Privacy, and other IT policies including Policy 564 and CPDEP for IT;
  • Experience in utilizing both Agile and waterfall methodology.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of matter management systems, preferably Team Connect;
  • Experience with project artifacts and templates such as requirements, functional specs, test plans, test results, implementation plans, business cases, and alternative analysis scoring;
  • Experience in Business Objects or other reporting and data analytics tools;
  • Experience with design, configuration, and implementation of vendor applications and system integration;
  • Experience with understanding Data Models.
