Brunel Energy are now recruiting for an experienced Data Manager to work on a 30 month renewable contract. Starting from April 2018, the successful candidate will be working for a worldwide oil & gas company, based in the EPC contractor office, in Western Europe for a year (city to be confirmed soon) and then in Donges, France.

As part of the Project Engineering team, the Data Manager will provide a single point of contact between the Cpy team and the EPC Contractor and all their data providers (vendors, suppliers, etc) regarding data exchange.

Job description


The Data Manager will be responsible for the production of a set of consistent data in order to enable the Digital Twin solutions and the protection and maintainability of the delivered Project data during Project phases and at hand over to Operations.

The job holder will ensure that the information created during the Basic Engineering/FEED and detailed Engineering phases is properly formatted and structured so as to allow maximum use by Company teams during project phases as well as a proper handover to Operations.

Special attention on data quality which will be a Single Source of Truth to allow business decisions.

  • Ensure data availability, integrity/consistency and reliability for Cpy Engineering teams and future Operations by :
    • Ensuring that both EPC Contractor and Project team fully understand the requirements of the contract and applicable Cpy specs
    • Participating to clarification rounds with FEED or EPC contractors
    • Supervising the data exchange and data review/approval processes with the EPC Contractor(s) and their vendors/suppliers.
    • Verifying the quality of asset data format as it is delivered by the EPC, checking the completeness (multi disciplinary) of the asset database throughout the different Project phases.
    • Supervise and control asset data publication in Project Portal, to ensure maximum use by Project Team.
    • Verifying the quality and consistency of data stored in any Project database before they are handed over to Field Operations.
    • Ensuring a proper integration of Project Information into the Site/affiliate technical Information Architecture.
    • Establish processes, monitoring tools (if needed), training, etc in order to ensure sustainability in Production, in particular regarding Change Management.
    • Ensure data uniqueness, quality and protection for the future Production phase
  • Assist discipline specialists in the identification, gathering and organization of relevant technical data during Project phases, including Commissioning
  • Ensure that any software applications used by the EPC Contractor, or their Vendors and suppliers, allow data exchange with Company for verification/approval and produce file formats that are compatible with Cpy’s data management tools
  • Ensure respect of backup and data security processes.
  • Organize, at the request of the Project team, the procurement of studies, tools, systems and software packages as required
  • Follow-up development, acceptance, installation and start-up of afore-mentioned systems
  • Organize, at the request of the project team, the transfer of the Project’s data bases between different project phases.
  • Ensure that the Maintenance & Inspection Engineering Contractor uses the same data sources as all other engineering disciplines to complete their scope of work
  • Train and support Project users in internal and external training actions.
  • Maintain a close interface with QUANTUM team to share best practices (REX) and tools as much as possible. In this respect, propose evolutions of processes, methods and tools

About you


Candidate's profile :

Master’s degree or equivalent, with 6 years experience in the oil & gas industry

Good knowledge of the Company’s Operations/Projects organization, business processes and workflows is required

Strong rigor required for this position

Knowledge in data management international standards is appreciated.
