Job description


Main Functions:

The Project Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for managing all activities associated to planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, forecasting and analysis.


  • Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans;
  • Work with project managers, construction managers, engineers, contractors, and other team members to achieve  objectives, goals, analyze status;
  • Prepare and perform interactive planning sessions to create overall and detailed plans. Liaising with Project Manager, Site Manager, Project Control Manager  and Project Engineers to create these plans, progress the project and address any issues that arise;
  • Liaise with Construction  contractors to organize the phases of the construction development;;
  • Integrate information from contractors, owners, and others to create master and detailed schedule;
  • Adopt and implement NOVA’s PMO-Project Control standards, procedures and processes, making sure all stakeholders are in compliance and taking any corrective actions as required;
  • Establish baseline, update and maintain master and detailed schedules Establish and manage a performance management system / Progress measurement system;
  • Monitor, analyze and forecast on a regular basis. Analyze critical path, total float, logic sequence;
  • Assist management in proactively monitoring schedule progress adherence;
  • Develop weekly and monthly reports; provide recommendations, narratives, updates, forecast, analysis and corrective actions in a timely manner;
  • Provide thorough analysis of the schedules, provide what-if scenarios, recommendations  to improve schedule performance to project management, project controls and other stakeholders as needed;
  • Participate and coordinate scheduling meetings internal and external. Interact with internal project team and contractors team;
  • Closely monitor and proactively communicate changes to forecasts of key interfaces between stakeholders. (Contractors, Engineering, Supply Chain, Regulatory, etc.);
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project progress status and findings of analysis;
  • Provide analysis, as required, in support of setting contingencies, progress and trending reporting, project delay and schedule threat remediation; the development of project controls reference databases, etc.;
  • Consolidating high level plans for the project;
  • Create and maintain change management related to schedules;
  • Takes direction from Construction Manager;
  • Takes functional direction from PMO Chief of Planning & Scheduling and Project Controls Lead.

About you



  • An Engineering degree or engineering technology diploma or 10+ years specific experience;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience planning & scheduling with Primavera;
  • Strong skills developing plans for construction and interacting with multiple stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of Primavera / Performance measurement systems / MS Office - Spreadsheets / Advance Computer Skills;
  • Experience in construction environment;
  • Experience maintaining/updating EPC Schedules (Primavera P6);
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, planning skills, self-motivated. Ability to establish effective working relationships;
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem –solving, prioritization, planning and analytical skills;
  • Driving to intelligent solutions to maintain / accelerate schedule together with reducing or maintaining cost;
  • A construction site background is a must;
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Leadership.
