About this role

  • Responsible for such items as observing and
    assuring the correctness of the fit, acceptable tolerances, alignment,
    embedment and mating of all critical parts of the field assembled drivers
    and driven units e.g. pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, etc.;
  • Assures that the contractor performs
    sufficient inspections on all mechanical components and material;
  • Makes random and periodic inspections of the
    alignment, welding, flushing and hydrostatic testing of powerhouse piping;
  • Verifies by inspection that the correct installation,
    alignment and final setting of mechanical components such as pumps,
    motors, pressure vessels, valves and air compressors;
  • Participates in completion inspections of
    installed systems;
  • Perform surveillance activities, quality
    inspection activities in accordance with the Inspection & Test Plans;
  • Participates in the execution of detailed
    oversight program for high criticality activities or critical equipment
  • Participates in FATs, final inspection release
    activities, review of supplier Quality Control documents and support
    closure of punch list items.

About you

  • Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas
    industry in a project Quality supervisory role;
  • Experienced in selected inspection discipline;
  • Experienced in set up and alignment of high
    speed electric motors and compressors;
  • 10 + years’ experience in a construction
    inspection role on oil and gas projects involving: oil, water, and gas
    pipelines; pipeline facilities; field treating stations, LNG liquefaction
    or gasification plants and gas processing facilities;
  • Recent construction inspection experience;
  • Skillful at coordinating with the construction
    contractor to achieve mechanical completion status and seamless turnover
    of the project to the commissioning team;
  • Knowledgeable about HSE best practices and
    safety and incident reporting requirements of applicable federal and state
  • Perform inspection during fabrication
    activities as planned within the Inspection and Test Plans ITPs & ITRs;
  • Provide assistance to Commissioning services
    as part of the site completions team during pre-commissioning, final
    commissioning and start-up phases of the projects;
  • Attend and contribute to site and project technical
    meetings as necessary;
  • Provide expertise to site team to
    avoid/resolve quality problems.
