IT Technical Analyst - Mobile Itelatrac System

This role is similar to a technical business analyst, with a focus on mobile field computing hardware, workflows and systems. Mandatory experience required with Field device and application support using Intelatrac System or Schneider Electric Software.

This is a customer facing role in the Mobility team working closely with Business Unit (BU) business and IT partners, Desktop Design teams, Mobile App Development teams, and hardware/software vendors to provide technical support, consulting, planning and delivery of Upstream and Downstream operations-focused end-to-end/comprehensive mobility solutions. Candidates will work on projects with BU IT partners, 3rd Party development teams, IRSM Security and Network teams and with customers throughout the organization, and communicate with customers, IT partners, management, and vendors to provide support and ensure roadmap/solution alignment with overall IT and business strategies. This is 6+ month contract hire with possible extension or perm hire, and there are 2 openings in Houston, TX.

About this role

Operator Routine Duties application support:

  • Responsible for liaising with multiple Business Units on day-to-day support of the Schneider Electric Software/Aveva Intelatrac system, to include troubleshooting issues, managing internal deployment efforts, as well as define business workflows for mobilization;
  • This role will be responsible in supporting the current Intelatrac deployment and operations, plan and deploy remotely the next solution or upgrade on the Windows 10 platform, and prioritize enhancements across multiple BUs in order to represent these to the vendor.

IS device evaluation, standardization, acquisition, support:

  • Partner with Business Unit IT and business partners on device life cycle management for mobile field devices including Intrinsically Safe tablets, 2-in-1s, Microsoft Hololens and handheld devices;
  • Partner with Business Unit IT and business partners, Mobile App Development teams, and hardware vendors to evaluate, standardize, and deliver mobile field solutions;
  • Liaise with hardware and OS vendors to provide end-to-end support of intrinsically safe (primarily Windows 10 OS based) mobile field devices to include OS, and hardware driver support;
  • Will ensure Architecture and technical standards are being applied and support mobile app testing and Windows 10 patching and loading into the Company environment.

Position Details and Needed Skills:

  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge of mobile field computing hardware and applications, particularly Schneider Electric Software/Aveva Intelatrac, mobile field devices including Intrinsically Safe tablets, 2-in-1s, Microsoft Hololens and handheld devices, and Windows 10 OS;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of application and database standards, infrastructure (network, server), personal/mobile computing, security, and integration platforms/methodologies;
  • Participates in maturing development and environment standards and advises on the future technical direction of hardware and software solutions;
  • Responsible for performing day to day support activities involving all mobile technologies;
  • Provide guidance on improving the current existing processes and identify, define, collaborate, document and mature processes where they don’t exist;
  • Provide troubleshooting of application and hardware failures, developing strategies for resolving them and preventing future occurrences. Document common resolutions in tech notes for future reference;
  • Stays abreast of both technology changes and Company operating environment changes to assess potential impact to supported systems and application infrastructures;
  • Operational Excellence, Reliability and Incident and Change Management knowledge and compliance with Information Risk Management and Cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards and controls; Knowledge or familiarity with operations and maintenance applications and workflows in the business. (e.g. work management/EAM, asset integrity/inspection, routine duties, production monitoring, systems include: IntelaTrac, Smart Procedures, Maximo, InforEAM, SAP PM, Visions, Energy Components, LOWIS, Well View, OSI PI, etc);
  • Able to develop and document technical requirements, instructions and standards and present complex ideas to colleagues, partners and all levels of management.

About you

MUST HAVE:

  • 3-5 years mobile field computing experience (rugged devices) or related experience;
  • Experience working with, supporting and troubleshooting Itelatrac software;
  • Bachelor’s degree; Preferably Information Management or Computer Science;
  • Hardware troubleshooting experience.

PREFFERED:

  • Business analyst or change management background;
  • Familiarity with O365 solutions, Intrinsically Safe (C1D1, C1D2, ATEX 0, ATEX 1, ATEX 2) mobile device hardware and Windows 10 OS;
  • Previous Chevron experience;
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL and Network Architecture;
  • 3-5 years Upstream and Downstream Oil and Gas experience.

NOTE:

  • 2 openings;
  • This is a very technical role with some Business Analyst duties so candidates with technical titles/backgrounds are preferred;
  • This position requires level 3 support of application and field devices.

Compensation:
