About this role

  • Leading a team of mechanical/piping engineers, supporting projects and plant modifications;
  • Manpower estimation, work planning, progress monitoring and budget control, to support on-going projects and modifications;
  • Provide technical support, as necessary, to all CLIENT Departments, including; Operations, Maintenance, Projects (Brownfield Development Projects), and Construction on all mechanical technical issues arising;
  • Execute various Management of change operational based work scopes;
  • Participate in various project design reviews;
  • Working closely with operations personnel (eg Operations Manager, Ops advisors, Site Engineers and HSE personnel) to define and lead where necessary on the following key aspects of mechanical design;
  • Provide technical input to CLIENT management of change process. Carry out Site Surveys, preparation of SOR/SOW/Basis of Design, tender documents and specifications when necessary, for in-house and third party engineered modifications;
  • Review and approve as necessary, third party engineering deliverable;
  • Provide assurance on engineering compliance with applicable Standards, Specifications, Codes and Regulations. Ensure that non-conformity and temporary deviations are identified;
  • Provide support as necessary to activity planning and progress reporting;
  • Develop approval of all mechanical engineering design related documents;
  • Represent CLIENT on technical issues associated with 3rd party organizations such as key vendors, national authorities, and regulatory bodies where necessary;
  • Mechanical inputs to support CLIENT performance contract including safety audits, Isolation Audits, Safety Observations, Risk assessments, incident investigations etc.;
  • Provide procurement-engineering support for material requisition development, bid evaluations and supplier documentation reviews;Support Integrity Management with engineering solutions for repairs, modifications and design re-rates.

About you

  • BSC/HND in mechanical engineering, or equivalent;
  • The applicant must have a minimum of 20 years relevant experience in mechanical engineering with oil and gas operations and engineering, including 10 years in lead engineer role;
  • Candidate to demonstrate experience of key engineering requirements gained from engineering contractor experience in Greenfield engineering, as well as Facilities brownfield engineering gained from IOC/NOC Operator experience;
  • Experience of repair, modification and re-rating of plant and equipment;
  • Experience in piping, pipeline, static equipment and rotating equipment disciplines, with a focus on piping and static equipment; Candidate to demonstrate familiarity with all relevant industry codes, standards and practices (API,ASME,ISO), for piping, pipeline, valves & piping equipment, static equipment and rotating equipment;
  • Demonstrate mechanical static(vessel/tank & piping) team leadership and management in an EPC environment;
  • Proven experience and knowledge of all aspects of static mechanical international codes and standards, and material selection;
  • Demonstrate a pragmatic approach to application of codes and standards to ensure a safe operating environment;
  • Experience working in middle east multicultural environment;
  • Experience working with an operator at site or site offices;
  • Demonstrate local National engineering mentoring experience.
