Seeking a Legal Contract Analyst who will be assigned to multiple technology departments (some large) working with a Contract Analyst within Procurement that funnels all the requests to this new resource. This is a 12+ month contract working for a major Oil and Gas Operator in Houston, TX.

Job description


A successful legal analyst proactively assists clients in technology development companies and business units to establish contracts that support their business objectives, with particular focus on securing appropriate rights and protections for intellectual property. The position is responsible for preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts based on discussions with legal counsel, clients, and corporate business partners.

About you

• At least 3-5 years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including a thorough understanding of standard contract provisions. 
• Drafting and negotiating contracts. Deep understanding of contract provisions, excellent communication skills, understand what the other side is telling you on the provisions. 
• Teamwork element 

Nice to Have: 
• At least 2-4 years of experience in drafting and negotiating technical development and intellectual property-related contracts, ex- research agreements, joint development agreements, licenses, etc. Experience in drafting and negotiating information technology (software) contracts is also desirable.
