Or client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer
to join their team in Amsterdam to provide discipline engineering expertise and
leadership for Mechanical part of precommissioning, commissioning and
operational activities. The specialist will monitor Contractor’s activities and
progress within his/her area of expertise. The candidate will be responsible
for the onshore facility of the offshore pipeline related to the Mechanical equipment.

About this role

Typical tasks and responsibilities:

  • Organisation and supervision of all pre-commissioning, commissioning and operational activities, including repair and maintenance activities of the mechanical part of the equipment;
  • Coordination and supervision of Contractor’s engineering and design activities in their specific areas of control, verification and contractor supervision for the entire project;
  • Ensure availability and completeness of the design of the mechanical equipment (technical specification, data sheets, etc.);
  • Developing of instructions, regulations, manuals and procedures associated with the precommissioning, commissioning, operation, maintenance and repair, decommissioning and conservation of the mechanical equipment;
  • Liaising with HSSE, QA/QC, CPI teams and other project Teams;
  • Assuring Mechanical equipment pre-commissioning deliverables in accordance with project standards/specifications;
  • Prepare and approve the requests for supply of equipment, emergency stock, materials and spare parts for commissioning and operational needs, production needs, planned maintenance and capital repair;
  • Supervising the selection of potential pre-commissioning, commissioning, operational and maintenance contractors;
  • Performing technical documentation review.

About you

The right candidate will have to meet all the following requirements:

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Strong experience working in the operations phase for gas projects (not oil);
  • Good knowledge of Russian and/or Turkish language;
  • At least 10 years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a large gas pipeline operator (onshore pipeline installation, gas plant construction, onshore gas facilities);
  • Good knowledge of the pre-commissioning, commissioning and operational activities for the mechanical equipment related to the gas transportation industry;
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior or lead engineer in international or joint venture companies;
  • Previous working experience with Botas and/or PAO “Gazprom” norms and codes;
  • Experience with high-end technology, advanced domestic and abroad foreign experience in the operation of offshore gas transportation systems and main pipelines;
  • Knowledge of the following systems and equipment is required: Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS), Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), pipeline hydraulic simulation software (PPS), shutdown and control valves, valves instrumentation, HIIPPS, PIG traps, waterbath heaters, separators, gas metering stations;
  • Experience with Emergency response planning and Emergency communication chart during situations;
  • Experience with International, European, Turkish norms and codes related to precommissioning, commissioning and operations of the mechanical equipment in a gas industry;
  • Knowledge of Offshore standard DET NORSKE VERITAS DNV-OS-F101 Submarine Pipeline Systems is mandatory as a main design code for the project.
