Looking
for a Drilling/Drill site Manager to join our client for a 9 month contract
near Bakersfield, CA. Must have experience
in both Drilling and Workover land based operations in the southern portion of
the San Joaquin Valley of central California. Nature of work includes high well
counts, short duration shallow vertical, directional & horizontal wells in
sub & over-press steam flood and water flood reservoirs in high well
density fields where consistency in execution is a critical to project success.

About this role

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for safe and
    efficient execution of drilling and workover operations;
  • Direct daily land based
    operations, working in a team environment to ensure the safety of
    personnel on location and compliance with all applicable environmental
    regulations;
  • Managing activities of rig
    and service company personnel and equipment;
  • Conduct accurate daily
    reports, maintaining accurate cost control. Reports to either the Drilling
    or Workover Superintendent.

About you

Skills:

  • Use of Standard Operating Procedures, following Drilling and Workover Programs/Procedure, capacity to incorporate Management of Change and Risk Uncertainty Management/Mitigation requirements into activities;
  • Strong communication skills are imperative;
  • Displays & applies Leadership Principals & Behaviors with service company personnel to ensure a strong safety and OE culture;
  • Setting clear direction & expectations and holding contractors accountable for delivering of their service;
  • Teamwork: effectively working w/ multi-functional teams to resolve execution challenges;
  • Takes initiative in planning and execution phases, setting clear expectations & providing critical feedback to service contractors and leadership driving efficiency into the process and over delivering record wells.

Must Have:

  • Active IADC Well Control Certification;
  • Recent experience working as a Drill Site Manager and/or Well Site Manager with 15 years of combined drilling and workover land operations experience specifically in shallow unconsolidated steam and water flood formations;
  • Great communication skills;
  • Drilling and Workover experience Onshore in California (SJ Valley, Bakersfield).

  • Contract Hire;
