Calling all Welding, Mechanical, or Quality Inspectors in Texas with extensive experience in Equipment Fabrication, and Sales. We have 9 openings for Equipment Fabrication inspectors with extensive experience in Onshore Upstream and Downstream Construction, primarily around Houston, Midland, Dallas and Northern Texas. This is a part time position with ongoing travel to various client sites all across Texas, as well as Casper Wisconsin. Per-diem included.

About this role

The primary function as an inspector is to inspect fabricating equipment on various sites and facilities within the state of Texas mostly. Areas include Houston, Dallas, Midland, and northern Texas closer to Oklahoma. The team also has a facility in Casper, Wisconsin.
This is a part time position only working 20 hours a week.
Responsibilities/Duties: • Will inspect around 10 to 15 pieces of fabricating equipment throughout the day. Each inspector will be given drawings and a checklist to go over each piece of equipment to verify in the field. They will be given specific instructions to go over for the equipment;
• Inspector acting in conjunction with client representative will assist and/or direct and insure that the other Inspectors perform work with the correct operating procedures necessary to perform proper installations;• He/she will be directed by client representative, and report to assigned locations;
• Inspector will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to the client representative any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury;• Will help insure all equipment, tools, materials and work areas are in a clean and orderly condition;
• Will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required;• Inspector will report, to proper client representative, job progress and all problems, or other factors which affect the job.

About you

Skills/Qualifications: • 10+ years of general industry experience- includes fabrication, sales around various fabricating equipment, and the understanding of fabricating processes;
• 5+ years of inspection experience overall ;• A strong history in instructing and inspecting of fabricating equipment;
• Inspector must be able to speak, understand, read and write English, and be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions;• Inspector must have working knowledge of the use of the tools and equipment required in the work;
• Inspector must be thoroughly familiar with the Company Safety Rules and willingly see that they are enforced;• Valid state driver's license;
• Inspector must be willing to work inside and outside under varying weather conditions;• Familiarity and being comfortable working in fabricating shops and working around different equipment. At times, you may have to crawl through equipment to verify;
• Must be willing and able to communicate through both verbal and written reports;• Must have demonstrated ability to carry through work assignments, and conduct himself/herself in a manner that encourages cooperation and satisfactory work from others;
• Inspector must have demonstrated the reliability and leadership ability necessary to coordinate the work of Inspectors and elicit the cooperation of fellow workers.
Per Diem/Schedule • This is a 100% traveling position with going to different sites 2 or 3 times a week. You have the flexibility to work your own schedule such as Tuesday and Thursday every week for a full day;
• Ideally- the team is wanting each inspector to drive their own vehicle and miles will be covered. Client will schedule different sites/facilities for each inspector to drive to within 3 hours so he/she can go home at the end of the day;• May be required to fly out of state at times- hotel will be covered.

Compensation:

  • Contract 13+ month with possible extension;
  • W2, 1099 or C2C;
  • Competitive wages + Per diem + Overtime;
  • Part Time Work Schedule 20 hours a week (possible full time schedule for 4-5 months)
