About this role

Promote HSSE performance and Goal Zero culture and role model Quality Leadership.

  • Develop and ensure implementation of an overall Quality Management vision and strategy in strong collaboration with the EPC contractor;
  • Establish and drive a strong and clear connection between Quality/ Flawless and HSSE incl. technical safety, ensuring alignment and synergy;
  • Develop and sustain a strong Quality organization and drive the overall QMS and Quality planning via the various Quality leads and engineers based in the engineering centres, fabrication yards and at site;
  • Provide senior level Quality Management focus as part of the LNG Plant Leadership Team and in key meetings with the EPC contractor;
  • In addition to a risk-based Project QMS approach, ensure a particular focus on sub-contractors and the whole supply chain is implemented, so that the perceived lower risk areas are properly covered;
  • Custodianship with dedicated focus on the Quality/Flawless key performance area within the Project Performance Management (PPM) initiative;
  • Drive a strong Quality culture including but not limited to leveraging the HSSE behavioural based programs for Quality to instil the right mindset and culture;
  • Articulate quality actions and behaviours for people to follow in support of a Zero Defects culture;
  • Manage interfaces with Joint Venture Partners (JVP’s) and external parties;
  • Ensure support to representatives of other workstreams, such as for the Pipeline (CGL) and Electrical Power supply (BC Hydro) is adequately provided (where required);
  • Drive focus on continuous improvement, overall simplification and lessons learnt implementation as well as rationalization where possible;
  • Ensure support for an effective and timely readiness for handover of plant facilities to the Asset Team, including oversight of input into the Technical Integrity Verification process, the set-up and implementation and completion of Flawless Project Delivery (FPD) and lessons learned programs as develop by Contractor and ensure contractual requirements are met.

About you

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 15 years experience in major oil and gas projects;
  • 10 years experience in quality management;
  • 10 years experience in managerial and team leadership roles;
  • Technical Authority Level – TA2 or equivalent Professional/Chartered engineer qualification;
  • Enterprise first values and behaviours;
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of industry and British Columbia local codes and standards;
  • Experience with EPC Lump Sum Contract management;
  • Ability to communicate, convince and influence at all organizational levels;
  • Conceptual/strategic thinking in combination with an energetic drive to implement, improve and deliver;
  • Ability to establish strong and sustained relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience with culture change management;
  • Experience with virtual/remote team management across various geographical locations cultures and time zones;
  • Quality- or FPD type program management experience on a megaproject;
  • Experience with Module Fabrication yards on a mega (LNG) project;
  • Experience with working in a Joint Venture setting.
