based in the Perth office for a 12 month assignment, providing contracts and
procurement support to the company Drilling Team.

About this role

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the end to end contract process.

  • Demonstrate a balanced view in resolving issues and a focus on continuous improvement;
  • The ability to influence stakeholders internal and external to the business, spot risks early, manage multiple tasks and build trusted stakeholder relationships;
  • Provide contract/procurement advice to various stakeholders within the Company;
  • Deliver timely results with demonstrated experience in the end to end Contracting processes including prequalification, ITT preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment and negotiation of tenders in accordance with Company approved Procedures;
  • Coordinate clarifications with Subject Matter Experts on contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance, HSES and other relevant stakeholder departments;
  • Finalise award and participate in post award management of Contracts;
  • Ensure Contract Variations and Contract Claims are identified early and managed effectively;
  • Continuously monitor cost optimisation and saving opportunities within the contract lifecycle and participate in strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver savings to the business;
  • Manage contractor performance, including the selection and implementation of contractor performance KPI’s and scorecard processes and maintaining positive contractor relationships;
  • Preparation of documents for presentation to Contracts Committee and various JVP approval committees in a timely manner.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Business Administration, CIPS Qualification, Law or equivalent professional qualification;
  • Minimum of 10 years Contracts and Procurement experience within the oil and gas industry preferably in the Exploration, Drilling and Completions workspace;
  • Demonstrated experience with complex JVP approval processes is essential;
  • Understanding of local content requirements in the contracting process;
  • Superior skills in contract drafting, communication, teamwork, negotiating and decision-making;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and deliver results in a high pressure environment;
  • SAP experience (MM module);
  • Contractor Management System experience (Procon or similar);
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
