About this role

  • Provide end user support and training on applications utilizing our in-house ticketing system. The end users this person will be supporting are in-house investigators who will be using forensic applications and tools for their investigations. Meaning support is expected to be communicated in a highly professional and courteous manner;
  • Manage the day to day administration, support, and maintenance of our Forensics application infrastructure (EnCase being the main application);
  • Work closely with server administration team to ensure environments are patched, compliant, functioning, etc.;
  • Evaluate and give recommendations on vendors and products, track industry trends and new technologies;
  • Develop, architect, and support IT projects, independently, and as part of a larger team;
  • Ideal candidate will possess a broad range of computer science skills and who will take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution.

About you

  • 5+ years of hands on experience working with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012;
  • 5+ years experience supporting desktops, laptops, and related office hardware and software including Windows OS and Microsoft Office;
  • 5+ years experiences of enterprises application administration, (e.g. SharePoint or Exchange);
  • 2+ years experience working with Microsoft SQL server 2005/2008;
  • 2+ years managing windows images;
  • Understanding of network configuration, including routing and switching infrastructure in multi-site environments;
  • Experience with IT automation and management using scripting technologies (VB, CMD, PowerShell, etc);
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models;
  • Professional tone with end-users, respectful acumen, clear and concise written communications, and ability to develop good working relationships with end-users.

Pusses but not required:

  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 5.5, vCenter, and other current virtualization technologies;
  • Experience with NAS and SAN hardware and protocols (Netapp, EMC, iSCSI, NFS, etc.);
  • Experience installing and implementing native and 3rd-party monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Splunk);
  • Forensics software experience (EnCase, Axiom, etc.) - [This is a HUGE plus]

Additional Qualifications:

  • Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents and manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English;
  • Experience: Ideal candidate will have 5 or more years experience in PC equipment inventory management, desktop hardware and software support, in a fast paced environment and will possess proficiency in providing desktop hardware and software support in a MS Windows based environment;
  • Education: Technology Related Bachelors degree or equivalent number of years of experience.
